Why Doç.Dr. Mutlu Ünver?

  • He was born in Uşak in 1982. He graduated from Uşak Anatolian High School in 2000.

  • He started his education life at Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 2000 and graduated in 2006.

  • In 2006, he worked as a general practitioner in the Malazgrit Health Center of Muş province as a

  • compulsory service.

  • After compulsory service in 2006, he started his specialty training at Ege University Hospital, Department

  • of General Surgery.

  • In 2012, Tepecik Training and Research Hospital was appointed as a general surgery specialist.

  • He worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Tepecik Training and Research Hospital between 2012-2014.

  • He continued to serve as a General Surgery Specialist at Medikalpark İzmir Hospital between 2014-2022.

  • As of 2022, he opened his own practice and started to see his patients in his clinic.

  • Dr. Unver specializes in cancers and GI surgery. He has advanced training in Surgical oncology with a focus on the multi-disciplinary care of cancers

Cancer Diseases and Treatments

Liver Cancers

Liver cancer is a type of cancer that originates from cells in the liver. Liver; It is located in the upper right part of the abdomen, below the diaphragm, above the stomach. Many different types of cancer can develop in the liver.

Pancreatic Cancer

The pancreas is an organ approximately 16-17 cm long, located behind the stomach and in front of the spine. It produces hormones that help control blood sugar levels and digestive enzymes that help break down nutrients. Pancreatic cancer is a cancer that is more common in men, occurs at older ages (40-85 years), and has a rapid and poor course.

The colon and rectum are part of the digestive system. The large intestine is the organ that comes after the small intestine. Colorectal cancers occur in the mucosa layer, the innermost layer of the large intestine.

Bowel Cancer

Bowel cancer is a rare type of cancer that occurs in the small intestine. The small intestine is a long tube-shaped organ that carries digested food between the stomach and the large intestine (colon). The small intestine is responsible for digesting and absorbing nutrients in food. 

Stomach cancer

Stomach cancer is a disease caused by abnormal growth/proliferation of the cells that make up the stomach. Various types of stomach cancer have been described, consisting of different parts or layers of the stomach.

Esophageal Cancer

The esophagus is a tube-shaped muscular organ that extends from the pharynx to the stomach. It is responsible for transporting food and drinks taken from the mouth to the stomach. It is approximately 25 cm long on average.

Breast Cancer

Breast cancer begins in breast tissue when mutated cells grow out of control, eventually forming a mass or tumor. Cancerous tumors, if left uncontrolled, can eventually spread beyond the original tumor to other parts of the body.

GIST

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are a type of tumor that can be found anywhere in the digestive system and manifests itself by changing the natural structure of the normal cell and growing. It is usually seen between the ages of 40-80. It is seen in 6-15 million people annually in the world.

Hernia

In inguinal hernias, fatty tissue or part of the intestine inserts into the groin in the upper part of the inner thigh. This is the most common type of hernia. Due to anatomical differences in men and women, it affects men more often than women.

Gallbladder Surgery

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy is the surgery to remove the gallbladder by inflating the abdomen with gas and without making a very large incision using a camera and thin hand tools. 

Spleen Diseases

The spleen is an organ about 11-12 cm long located on the upper left side of the abdomen, next to the stomach and behind the left ribs. The spleen has various functions in the body. 

Thyroid Gland Diseases

The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped organ located in the front part of the neck, just under the cartilage called the Adam's apple. It weighs approximately 20 grams. It secretes hormones that are vital for our body. In case of deficiency or excess, it can cause serious discomfort and complaints.

Obesity Treatment

Obesity is the excessive and abnormal accumulation of fat in the body to the extent that it impairs health. In calculating obesity, height and weight values are used. Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation is used.
